For over 17 years, I’ve worked as a professional chef, and along the way I’ve developed a real love for great food, quality ingredients, and the amazing people who produce them.

My journey hasn’t just been in the kitchen. I’m also a fully qualified PCV bus and coach driver, which has given me the chance to travel all over the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Spending so much time on the road has let me discover places and meet people that many visitors would never normally come across.
Those two careers have given me a pretty unique view of this beautiful region. I’ve come across hidden cafés, farm shops, artisan producers, and family-run businesses, all with their own story and a real passion for what they do. To me, that’s what the Borders is all about—genuine people making exceptional food and experiences.
That’s why I created Taste the Borders. It’s my way of sharing the places, flavours, and stories I’ve discovered over the years and helping others enjoy the very best the Scottish Borders has to offer.
